Been in lock down long enough to acknowledge I need a haircut ( not that there's much left...)
Have any members had success letting their wife/ partner cut their hair?
(I did suggest I get to cut her hair also!!)
hahahaha......please post a before and after pic!

Absolutely! I bought a $40 pair of clippers a few years ago. A quick number three in the bathroom once a month. Done and dusted in 10 minutes.

Takes me back to the biblical story of Samson and Delilah. Samson's great strength was derived from his long hair. His lover Delilah cut his hair and turned him over to the Philistines.
Then there is Alex's post about Buckethead, which had me remembering that my wife and I once used an orange mixing bowl to cut my son's hair. The Prince Valiant look.
Of course my then wife is now my Ex (After 32 years), there is no way I would trust her. Glad so many folks can stick it out but it was killing me.

My wife has cut my hair for many years now, well, at least what is left of it as I'm bald so it is just a matter of getting the WAHL out for a quick run over. I could probably do it myself but there is nothing like spending quality time with one's partner :) I have on many occasions offered to cut my wife's hair but is always met with a thanks but no thanks, she is such a polite person. Coming up for 45 years of marriage soon :D

14 years of free hair cuts and counting. I also trim her bum-length hair when it gets below said bum. Pleasant experience :)

As my hair was getting too long, I bought the cordless Philips Series 5000 Hair Clipper from Myers on-line for $60 (less a voucher my wife had) - it has two clipping combs, one adjusts from 3mm to 15mm, the other 16mm to 28mm length.
I put the setting to 15mm and told my wife to only do the parts I couldn't see at that setting, and I'd do the rest with it and with scissors.
Done this way, no trust was involved, she wasn't stressed, and I was solely responsible for any dud result. Anyhow, it turned out okay though slightly shorter than usual. Next time I'll use the 18 to 20mm setting.
Regards,
Renato

Why this unhealthy preoccupation with cutting hair?
It grows to a certain length and finds a particular style without you doing a thing.
I posted this in the "post a photo of yourself" to encourage activity there but I post it again here...now look it looks natural and just like everyone else at the Drake Pub..what more can you ask. And you probably won't believe this but in the photo it wasn't combed I just moved it our of my eyes is all.

Buy some clippers, Ken.
No 2 or 3 (6-9mm) in winter and No1 (3mm) in summer.
Been doing it myself for years.
I think this is my 3rd set of clippers in 20+ years.
Al.
My Alice has cut my hair for as long as i can remember, ;) then again she happens to be a qualified Barber/Hairdresser.
Dose that count

Thanks for all the interesting (!!) contributions.
If I had 6mm of hair to play with I'd be happy ;)
The comb over is not a good look - remember Garry McDonald!
I used to have a beard - for twenty years...now just a "Walrus Mo"

Well what you need to remember is if you are in a knock down drag out fight to see who will escort Miss Lilly home from the pub your opponent, if you have hair or beard, will invariably grab hold often even with two hands...now when that happens you have them at a complete disadvantage... their fists are not going anywhere and you can smash their face in from either side and from below...when they are unconscious you simply peel their hands off your hair or beard....and ask Miss Lilly if she can carry the slab of coolies whilst you hot wire a car of her favorite colour...perhaps buy some bacon and eggs for breakfast if you are a thinker.

I am blessed. My wife is a qualified hairdresser..and has the trade, then called a "Master's certificate" after 4 years of tech college, to prove it....but I know her well enough not to ask for a "tidy-up" if I have annoyed her for some lame male behaviour.
Douglas Adams also pointed out the importance of keeping people like hairdressers and phone sanitisers within the populace.
Particularly the latter.

My first wife was a hairdresser and would cut my hair. And although she got on well with my second wife I had decided not to bother cutting it would cost money..It was so funny...to see them both sitting together filling in the divorce papers ..every now and then they would call out to ask me a question to go on the forms..but me and the band kept on playing..they seemed happy .. ..it was like they were transferring the rego papers on the car...anyways it all went thru... ownership went to the next one and I got my laundry done as usual...what was funny was they both thought they had won. Me I did not care..what a prize..me?...now the first one I set up with a ticket for the rest if her life and the second I set her up nice as well...I am just a romantic..

I gave it and happy to do so...both are wonderful people and deserved better than me.
But I did the right thing not like so many fools who let their love turn to hate ... I will still do anything for them...
