Hi all,

It has been a while since I posted here. But it looks like the wet is humid is on its way out, so it may become possible for me to shoot again and to share my journey with astro during the coming months.

Luckily I was able to put my rig together without issues and it all worked from the first go. New focuser (Optec Leo) is proving to be a nice upgrade from HSM + FTF combo. There is a tilt that needs to be addressed, one day perhaps. For now, it was just a great feeling to be back in the saddle!

Have never imaged this beautiful DSO (https://a4.pbase.com/o12/75/1404475/1/170670616.bs46oZP3.HA_Lum.jpg), and so far have only a mono version to share (9 hours worth of data).

Rig as per last few years, i.e. CFF105 at f/4.5, Mach1 and QSI 690 with Astrodon 3nm.

Thank you for looking
Suavi

Coming on well Suavi. The main nebula is good, but I really like the wispy clouds in the upper right part of the picture.

Welcome back Suavi, good to see you back at it again! Looks like a great start to what I'm sure will be another cracker.

Thank you Geoff, Lee and Marc. It certainly is great to be back. I agree - those wispy clouds would make an interesting target in their own right.

Coming along very nicely Suavi, I agree with everyone else, those whispy clouds are a very interesting part of the image.

Lovely. What a wonderful scope you have!

The new focuser looks a lot like a FLI Atlas focuser.

Thank you Colin and Greg. When the skies will clear up again, I will try reducing that tilt. Yes, Optec Leo focuser is very nice - low profile, about 0.1 micron step and as far as I can tell it does not flex. I got it as one day hopefully I could use it on a fast Newtonian or an RC.

Thank you Tim and Mike and Trish.

Running out of time to capture OIII, where are those clear skies at night?

I do notice there is some odd looking star elongation across the image, what's causing this?...ah, just re-read your original post  tilt you recon?

Thank you Rodney.

Thank you Mike. Well, I think it is a tilt and I hope it's not some guiding problem.
