Clickbait, and dangerous, in the same way, "Jaws" was to sharks...
Bats are essential for the seeding of rainforests and other fertile areas on the planet, hating on them is as dumb as hating on Bees.
Yes, they carry viruses which thrive in human hosts, but due to our continued encroachment on their habitat, we get closer, and will continue to get MARS, SARS, C-19 type pandemics.
Eating a species of elusive animal is a sure-fire way to introduce diseases and viral infections which humans have never had before.
AIDS is a perfect example of this, introduced to human biology by people trying to survive and eating African Monkeys, 35 million people have died from AIDS.
Wet markets have to stop I guess, but tradition is hard to change.
Hi Graham,
See the story from University of California, Berkeley in this thread from Feb 11th 2020 that covered precisely the same topic.
They have remarkable immune systems :-

I don't mind bats but it is past a joke in Lismore and Casino as they, flying foxes, are in each town, and to me they stink bad.In Lismore they are in a park close to the hospital.
Needless to say they are tolerated.
