When I first started getting into astrophotography in late 2015 the one object that my mum wanted me to photograph was the Pillars of Creation. My first attempt was a test image to check out a new combination, the QHY163M and Sky Rover 130mm F/5 (https://www.astrobin.com/full/392373/0/).

Sunday/Monday nights I decided to give it a go with the OSC as a filler after shooting a hamburger before potentially giving it another go again with mono in a few months when I finally have a mono cam again!

Seeing wasn't quite as good with one night averaging around 2.5" and the other around 1.8" so the final stack is around 2".
Processing has been very minimalistic even if the saturation has been pushed to 11 :lol:

Looks really good close up Colin. The reluctant parachutist is well defined. :thumbsup:

The thing I like the most is the black dusty outline of a huge winged dragon's head (or is that the REAL eagle) looking down hungrily from top of frame.

The Reluctant Parachutist has a diffraction spike right where it would hurt. Ouch.

I’ve never quite known which part the Eagle is, what you point out is what I originally thought it was but I’ve heard others described the wings as the wider Ha component than this right FOV.

Question though, which is he Reluctant Parachutist? Looking around I can see 2-3 potentials :lol:
