Hi Guys,
Just sqeezed in some more time to process another image. Here's the Jewel Box info below:
Celestron 10" F4.7 with Canon 350D Unmodded
Autoguided Orion ED80 + Meade DSI II
Baader MPCC/UHC-S
10 x 2minutes 30 sec ISO 800
Flats/Darks subtracted.
I have no idea what that streak is on the left hand side. i don't think it was a satelite as the streak doesn't go right through the screen. ok.. i better goto sleep.
Cheers

That's a beautiful cluster. Probably too cyan but could be easily corrected.
Lovely image, look forward to the rest from the session.

Great stuff Eric, the Jewel Box was my first cluster, so it holds special interest to me, plus at the end of the day, it is simply a stunning example.

Love the Jewel box! Good image. Presumably the streak is a meteor and only on one sub (?). How did you combine the 10 subs? Averaging would make a bright streak in one sub appear very faint.
Cheers,
Marcus
Very nice Eric, the Jewel Box is certainly a beautiful cluster.
Like Mike said, the image is a little too much cyan biased but that can be balanced out.
Good work.
almost as good as my LPI jewelbox ;)
nice eric!
Great image Eric, you have certainly captured the sparkle in it.
very nice

cheers guys thanks for your reply. totally agree it is too cyan. will fix that. i think the baader uhc-s filter made it all cyan and because it is an unmodded camera. the streak appears on all my 10 frames. it was stationary. I shot more than 10 objects last night and the streak only appears in the jewel box. interesting.. not powerlines, not cables hanging over the scope etc etc

Very nice Eric!!.. I have always loved this little cluster but never have imaged it..
Ohh that strange line is a diffraction spike from a nearby bright star out of your field of view. From beta crux? maybe.
You have certainly done a marathon last night...
Cheers Gary

Could be light entering in from an angle or somewhere else then, I didnt realise it was ALL frames.

yes then it has to be a light source from somewhere causing the steak. i'll ignore it for the time being :P
cheers guys.
