I already googled for live web cams but found nothing - does anyone know of any ?

Hi Melani,

And if you are looking for live webcams of what large observatories
are looking at, they essentially don't exist.

More often than not, the world's largest telescopes are equipped with an
instrument such as a near-infrared spectrometer. They will divert
every photon they can get onto the instrument's sensors.

from Nasa's International space station apparently - sometime this can be good to see if anything is whizzing past Earth
