Greetings,
I am pretty sure that there is no adaptor for a QHY 163C connecting to a Sony E mount lens. I do know that Astromechanics make an adaptor for a Canon EF lens but I thought I would ask.
Any information re the QHY 163C adapter would be most welcome.
Regards
Stephen

I cannot think of one but Theo at gamaelectronics.com.au would be the one to ask.

I look at the endless amount of Sony cameras and lenses for sale on the classified and wonder if people are moving away from Sony because of the drama using them compared to Canon. Eg, APT can't deal with Sony cameras.

I think you can get the canon EF adaptor for the QHY and then thread in a separate EF to E mount adaptor (if Theo can't help you out).

Sorry for the delay in responding. Doing the numbers means that any adapter can be about 8 mm thick. That would be about the same thickness as the standard lens cover for the E mount lens. Trying to attach an M42 thread in that distance is not going to be easy and probably not worth the effort in making one. I think I will look at getting a Canon lens for widefield imaging and put this down to be a Sony user.

Checkout the adapters at Cyclops optics...they do the QHY “blade”...maybe that would work?

William Optics make an Emount adapter to fit their Redcat 51. As I recall its a 42mm T Thread adapter.
Have a look on their site. I have this adapter if you have any questions about it.
Would that work?
Greg.

I am not after an E Mount adapter. It is the reverse per se. I want to fit an E Mount lens onto the QHY. E Mount adapters are designed to fit DSLR cameras to the optics usually with a 0.75 pitch thread. Nothing is easy with astrophotography. :(

I asked Robin and he couldn't help. :(
