Not a lot of data in this image of IC4628 (the Prawn Nebula). Only 12 x 5mins each of Ha, SII and OIII. Processing was a little challenging, I have been using my ASI1600MM Cool camera and have been having horrible issues with amp glow. I am sure I am not alone but think I have worked out how to mitigate it in Pixinsight. If has dropped using bias frames altogether and make sure that the flats I produce have exactly matching darks. In calibrating the flats, I untick both calibrate and optimise and do the same when calibrating the lights. I have also dropped doing any linear noise reduction (was using Multiscale Linear Transform) and now just doing a touch of TGV right at the end.
Overall I am pretty happy with the results. Big thanks to Warren Keller for answering a couple of my questions on the pre-processing stages on email.
Main purpose with my image here was to try and bring out the dusty area to top left of the main nebula. I always like seeing that in an image and am happy it is starting to appear in some of my results.
Image Data:
Mount: Orion AZ-EQ G
