Paul,
A difficult object to image
Well done !!
Next attempt try and push those subs a bit longer to expose more detail
ISO 800 is your sweet spot setting on that 1100D for longer subs ( 1 to 5 minute range )
Cheers
Martin

The sweet spot for the 1100D is 1600,[ including long subs], unlike many other budget and mid level models which are mostly 800 or 1000. The 1100D was a fine budget camera, and I would still use mine in preference to my 600D, if it had a
swivelling screen; its actually slightly quieter than my 600.

Thanks Martin / Raymo for your replies.
Before posting my image I did a quick Internet search as to how this galaxy `looked`, when imaged.
I decided to go with a softer processing of the target rather than
what seems to be a more processed result.
Saying that, I now post my alternate processed
images for consideration.
Agreed Martin, it was a difficult target, and to be honest,
I doubt that I would have even realised I had it in my sights
if not for the modified DSLR and short exposures at ISO 6400
at 2 seconds just to verify it was in screen.
Thanks again,
Paul.
