This has been a bucket list for me for a while along with the Trap (next season). Taken at 7:30pm last night I took a sequence of 3600x0.1s images, would have been better doing a video looking back on it as it took approx 35 minutes for MaximDL to do it that way with a crop.
It's no where near as good as I saw it through Allan's 32" but I am using a meagre 10". Looking at the way the OSC deals with things I do need to get myself a mono camera again but that's for another time. Still happy with the result though.
Oh and by the way, my shot is the one on the right. Sucky Hubble is on the left ;)

If you tone down the colour a bit on the right side image you get what the Black Widow shows from Coolah......

I know Chris, Hubble is 10 years older than my Mewlon so therefore it isn't as good
Thanks M&T :) I feel that when I get a mono camera again I'll need to give it a go with a Ha filter and see if that'll help eek out a little more detail.
You're definitely right there Matt, the views there will stay with me for a lifetime I recon :)

Nice.
Any way of finding the magnitudes of any of the stars in the field?

I've been trying to figure out how to use Aladin to get the magnitudes but I'm struggling with the gamma setting or getting the WCS data to play nice and accurately.

Na, the native image scale is at 0.4”/pixel and I didn’t dither. From memory the stacked FWHM was at around 1.6” with a handful of frames getting around the 1” mark. That’s means an absolute minimum of 2.5 pixels but averaging around 4 pixels.
