I took my first photo of Mars last night and it is red on the bottom yellow in the middle and blue on top.
It was taken through my Nikon 7200 and skywatcher Ed 100 refractor and a 1.25 inch 2xbarlow.
Should I assume the barlow is giving bad colour?

Peter,
sounds like atmospheric chromatic aberration.
Mars early in the evening is only 30 deg altitude, you need to wait until it's higher in the sky.

It could also be lateral chromatic aberration introduced by the barlow if it was higher in the sky.

Thank you, it was 3 am and Mars was still fairly low, I will wait till the next clear night(I’ve had my one cloudless night this month) and try without the barlow
