Me too Ving, I am not big on Forums, but check (infrequently) CloudyNIghts. This one though seems like a big happy family, which is nice, very nice. Don't tell too many though.

I agree Gary, it's nice to have a family feel.. and the people here are great and it's been awesome how people are helping each other out and developing the online friendships.

Of course though I still want the forums to grow and want to see more people, both newbies and advanced, signing up and participating in this great growing community that has really been missing in australasia.

I've only been here a week and like it already. Much easier to use than AO too.

I wish some of the other forums I'm an active member of were as friendly as this place.

I think I spend way to much time in them anyway and it might be time to drop out of a couple, check the list out:

Astronomy Forum
B3TA : WE LOVE THE WEB
Blogger
Cloudy Night's Forums
Communism Chat Board (JengaJam)
DBA Forums
DVD Plaza
Fuji Talk Forum
Home Theatre Central
IceInSpace Forums
MozillaZine Forums
My Yahoo!
Naked Dwarf
Topfield-Australia Forum
Yahoo! Groups _ My Groups (about 5 active ones)

Then there's IRC...

hi ya silvie :)
made the trasition too huh?

I tend to go thru phases when it comes to forums. I never lurk tho... I either post my lil' heart out or not visit at all.

I still hope the AO forum gets its butt into gear as there are prolly ppl there who dont/wont come here.

It is unanamous yet?

Is this the most popular Austronomy forum in Australia yet? Sounds like a good time to have a poll Ice :)

Keep up the good work.

heya david! yes, it took me a while to find this forum as my only link to it was through ao! should have saved it as a favourite eh?
By the way ice, I couldn't find your website using google search. I typed in "ice in space forum" and it didn't find you :( then by chance, i just typed it in as a url and voila! i found your site!

Yeh i've got to work on getting it listed better in google search etc.

I also need to buy iceinspace.com.au, because at the moment if you do an "Australian only" search it won't be listed except through my signature where i've posted on other aus forums.

Also the more links to iceinspace from other sites, also helps it get listed in google.. so if you've got a site, link to us here! :)

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys, it means a lot.

I'll link this forum to my website too but I don't think it'll do you much good ice as nobody visits my site anyway. It's still under :work: Not enough hours in the day to work on it...we need to colonise Mars or the moon or something :(

I've emailed them too but to no avail. Our prayers remain unanswered. Not that we want to abandon Ice or anything...but think of it this way Ice, once the AO forum gets up again, we can tell everyone to head on over this way. Whaddya reckon eh?
Sometimes, I amaze myself :P

looks like they've changed the AO main site a bit. The side menus stay open for me now. Is that the same for everyone else or am I just dreaming? Does anyone know why the forums were down for so long?

Don't worry Ice, soon I'll be on a recruiting mission

Maybe it's just been so long that you don't even remember what the old site looked like! The forums haven't change Ving, I'm just talking about the measly side menus on their home page.
