Last night 87x 60sec subs. Wanted to test out my newt with my modified mount & catseye collimator
I've modified my Celstron CGEM mount. Took out the celstron controller board, motors and gearbox and replaced them with stepper motors & belts, run by an onstep controller I put together inside the mount head - all controlled by wifi. Much better guiding than before (0.5 - 0.6 arcsec rms versus >1arcsec rms)
Also got a Catseye collimator and used this target to see if I got it right. I think I'm close to collimated. But there's a bit of distortion on left corners, so must still be some tilt between the camera and coma corrector.
