The new AR 2759 in CaK and White light.
The spot formation, Faculae and Plage visible.
Hopefully a sign of better times to come.

Two versions of the AR 2759 - one with double stack and one with single stack....
The bright prom really needed two exposure to show the extent (Need to gain better processing skill's to combine etc.)

Down towards the south pole a faint but interesting prom...
H alpha image of the filaments behind the large prom.
Enjoy!

I like the double stack image more than the single stack and the proms are very nice too.
Thanks for sharing, request, please send sunshine, raining all day today.

Hi Ken There's a lot of granulation detail in your white light images, what filters are you using?.

Martin,
I use a Baader cool Herschel wedge on the ED80 and the ASI 1600.
Seems to work for me.
Remember the uploaded images are <200Kb JPEG...the originals are >5.6Mb Tiff files!

Jeff, I agree the DS does what it’s suppose to - increase contrast, but the SS shows the spots.....compromise??

Good work Ken, you can't tell me this isn't increasing activity

All other factors being equal, a Herschel wedge equipped telescope seems to be the best white-light observing tool there is.
