Hi all,

Here's my latest pic, NGC3293, a favourite star cluster in the constellation of Carina.

The image is a 60-minute (15x4min) autoguided exposure @ ISO-200.
I am quite happy that this image not only showed blue nebulousity around the cluster but a close inspection shows that the blue nebula has distinct variations in brightness.

There's a higher resolution image here
http://www.skylab.com.au/pmsa/NGC3293.html

Telescope is a modified 12-inch f/5 Newtonian telescope on Losmandy Gemini G-11 equatorial mount. At prime-focus is a Canon EOS 300D Digital (modified) and focused with DSLR Focus. Autoguided with an SBIG 402 CCD Camera on 4.5-inch f/9 guidescope using CCDSoft. 2" Baader Multi-Purpose Coma Corrector (MPCC). 2" Baader UV/IR Rejection Filter. Image Processing Iris, Photoshop, Noiseware.

Hi all,

yes a beautiful southern skies star cluster, I was very happy to have captured the blue nebula and a little surprised to see so much red nebula in the background.

thanks for comments.

Great work, theres a noticable dark nebula under the cluster as well.

Hi Paul, lovely image.
Is that the one that's also known as the "Gem cluster"

Cheers

Nice cluster, like a diamond sparkling in sunlight, the blue neb was a great capture.

Yes a "great southern skies attraction". Most of all I wanted to capture the blue nebula and I did, so am very happy.
