Mirko,
Thanks for the Heads up....
The Gong data seems to be stuck on the 19th March.
Total cloud and drizzle down here.

More proms today, this time on the Eastern side. A quick shot to illustrate...

Mirko,
Thanks for that, clearly shows the activity.
Again, we're clouded out!

Hi Ken yes it was good to get out to do some solar. Put the ASI120 on the 35 Lunt as an afterthought, worked OK despite the small aperture and average seeing. My turn to be under cloud today however.

Sorry to hijack the thread but news on Spaceweather. com is that a new sunspot is rotating into view over the NE limb. Wonder if it associated with the CME on the farside last week.

Yeah....
There seems to be something building up on the Eastern limb....
Hopefully the weather will allow us to image the action.

Eastern side is looking great right now. Hints of a double loop prom appear to be forming, small filaments on the disk and an obvious active region further north (?), and some action on the opposite side as well. The full disk view is starting to resemble something interesing again. Nice!

Will try another picture later, lock-down child duties are preventing that right now...

Mirko,
Thanks for the heads up...
I should be able to do some imaging in an hour or so.....

Definitely lots going on in White light, CaK and Ha.
New named AR 2759 shows visible spots and faculae in WL
The two proms visible are pretty bright!
Images to follow.

Have grabbed another shot. In Beginners' AP.

No chance of any imaging today (2/4/20) - total cloud and 15mm rain earlier...
I hope others have the opportunity to see AR 2759 and proms.

Just had a look - Eastern proms continuing, western side has settled down a bit. The bright prominence that was there has become fainter.

Thanks for the update!
I'm spending my "cloud time" learning about Mosaics and HDR processing....

Eastern proms still going today. A biggish one SE, a smaller one NE. Seeing to bad here to see much on the disk.

Mirko,
Thanks!
Still 100% cloud cover here...
GONG shows the brighter prom in the SE.

Hi Ken, the smaller one is at 10 o'clock in the Gong image. Easily visible through Ha scope. The AR is lost in seeing today though. And I've just spotted another prom about 90° round the limb in the other direction from the bigger one.

Mirko,
the one at 10 o'clock has been visible for a while...I'm working on some images from the 1st trying to do an HDR composite!!!

Yesterday's bright SE prom now appears to have moved into the disk and formed a filament (a short fat one). meanwhile there is now a loop prom visible almost directly opposite. Seeing still bad here though.

A faint but large prom on the NW limb this morning. Tallest I've seen for some time.

Mirko,
Thanks for the heads up....
Lot's of broken cloud at the moment....let's see if it improves.

Just been out with the Ha scope, first time in months (thanks, Covid lockdown). It appears the huge prominence has turned into a big filaprom. Very much worth a look. Visually it looks very 3-D. Nice
