Hi all,
Quick question. When taking my calibration frames (darks, bias, flats) do I leave my light pollution filter in place or remove it? Or does it not matter?
Regards,
Rene

Hi Rene,
Leave the filter in. As far as darks are concerned, it doesn’t matter. With your flats, taking the filter out will change your focus and so your flats won’t be accurate. In addition, any small dust particles that are on the filter won’t be calibrated out.
Hope this helps

Same focus, filters, temperature and camera orientation, especially for flats. For bias and darks only temperature matters.
