At this stage the Queensland Astrofest will go ahead in August 2020.

The committee recommends anyone with significant health risks, who is planning to attend, to seek medical advice before taking that decision.

Our event has a site limit of 110 people per night, and an average of 140 individuals attending over the 10 days.

As with any illness outbreak risk, we will provide hand cleaning facilities, such as alcohol sanitizer gel for use. We recommend anyone who is showing symptoms, or is in a household with communicable diseases (e.g. rotovirus or influenza), to not attend.

The site is a school camp run by Lions Club and they clean the site before we arrive. The committee pays for additional cleaning and is considering implementing daily procedures depending on the situation in August.

We will continue to be guided by medical advice from all Australian Governments, our parent Astronomical Societies, and Lions Camp Duckadang.

We will keep you posted as the situation develops.
