Just thought I'd share this, in order to make things a little easier for anyone who attempt the same thing. I just followed the instructions on Bob Franke's webpage (http://bf-astro.com/hubblep.htm) and automated it.
As used in the following images:

Just start with an RGB image that is setup as
S->R
H->G
O->B
Then run the action over it.
I've set this up in Photoshop CC 2020, but it should work on older versions of CC.
