It Tuc a while... but I finally got a clear night to test the rig again after the Omega test http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=179901.

Unfortunately Omega wasn't around this time so Tuc was the next best thing. Still not at 100% but I am getting very very close. A few more tweaks might be needed here and there, but things are operating a lot better now.

Seeing wasn't the best, I was capturing this low in the sky and had a bit of atmosphere to deal with so ended up rejecting about 20% of the subs before stacking.

Details:
Bortle 7-8ish sky
130mm APO
NEQ6 Pro (stock)
Canon 70D (stock)
120 x 60 sec
ISO 400
DeepSkyStacker
Photoshop (resized 200%)

Very nice - so that's at native f/7?

Thanks Tony I'm just happy to have clear skies again and yes it's at native f/7.

Top effort LIS. Really nice resolution. I’d love to see the 100% version too. Well done 👍

Nice image of a popular glob
This glob has been rising and setting either side of the south meridian for what seems like an eternity
Looks like late in the season for a capture as it’s quite low like you mentioned
I normally start capturing objects ascending above 35deg Alt to minimise atmospheric thermal convection and distortion. Light pollution or skyglow seems worse at lower altitudes as well ( the star colours may have been affected by this)
By the way your Omega is a cracker of an image !!
Well done !!

That's a cracking photo! Love it. I'd be very proud of that effort.

That is a fair time spent on this one ( love the pun in the heading ) and it's turned out really nice. Plenty of star colour too. Overall a great representation of this popular globular ( my turn, ;) ) so well done and thanks for sharing.

I've ignored star clusters but the colours you're getting make me want to give them another go :)

Thanks everyone, it's good to have Humpty Dumpty back together again.

Likewise but I wanted to test on a glob. Hopefully I can revisit Omega in a couple of months.

Thanks I'm happy with it but I'd like to go deeper. I need a bigger boat!

What a season we've had. It was a couple of months before I was able to see stars again. I was lucky that I got two nights in a row and I could make some balance and cable run tweaks. Got it sorted on the second night and was then able to get some half decent captures later that morning, but Tuc was quite low by then.

My backyard sky isn't the best so clusters are good objects to target and experiment with and find my sky's, rig and my own limits. Defintely hit them up in between those wonderful nebulae you always post.

Here's the almost full FOV. There were stacking artefacts on the edges which have been cropped out and the file size limit on here has compressed it some more so it's a very crunchy.

Thanks Tony and Elliot. Personally I'd love to go deeper and hit that core!
