What to do on a rainy Sunday afternoon? Practice processing skills on some poor data from last September.
So we had bad seeing, some tracking problems, short exposure, flare from an out of field star (upper left side) and bad colour noise, so all-in-all I'm pleased with the way it turned out--just don't examine it too closely.

That's a great image. Love the colour but its the framing that makes it. That bright yellow star and the background galaxy just make it.

Greg.

Thanks Greg. I’ve been giving more thought to the framing lately. Having a large chip and small object makes it easier.

Thanks Mike. No comment about the rather robust decon?

Thanks Lee, Mike and Trish
I’m a bit surprised at the positive comments I’m getting. Yes, it’s a nice composition, but the detail I would have liked to see in in the neb is just not there with 3.5”+ seeing.

...nah, it was only very slightly evident when zoomed right in and even then I think, given the conditions you note, it was handled quite well  The stars are elongated but at the size posted that was not too noticeable, this happens sometimes (can be fixed pretty easily too) and doesn't prevent the image from still being a goodun
