Hello,
after a long hiatus I got a chance to start imaging again last night, albeit briefly.

Dramas with the autoguiding only left me 2 images to process so I'll have to have another go with more images to improve the signal/noise ratio.
Here goes anyway, it's an improvement on similar shots I took last June so I'm keen to keep improving it.

hope the skies are clear tonight!

(details are on the image but basically: C9.25 F10 EOS 20Da 2 x 10 min ISO 800), cropped a bit and resized of course)
cheers :)

Wow, that a beauty Frank and nicely framed as well. I going to have to do that to my better images one day.
The dust lane is so crisp and clear it put a real sense of depth into the image.

Top stuff.

very nice frank. that 20d of yours combined with the c9.25 goes really well. the dust lanes are sharp and clear.

Hi Frank,
for 2 combined images, this is quite good.
Guiding is definitely a hard one to nail... especially when hrdware/ conditions don't permit. Sometime things just come together.
The trouble with not much data though, is the tendency to over process things to get the most out of what's there/ not there. Sometimes this can lead to artifacts in an image.
Stars seem a little stark,(jimo) perhaps a little over done through bringing out other stuff in the galaxy core without masking.
The colours are very good really, in this image, there's the faint blue reflection that is generally noticeable in much longer exposures, so your definitely on the right track colour balance wise.
A great effort for only 2 subs for sure.
More exposures will only improve things.
Go for it ...

Thanks for sharing your efforts.

Cheers
Rich

Thanks everyone,
Yep , I post them all...the good the bad and the ugly !
:]
Eric, I do love this 20Da of mine, sad that Canon havent released similar versions of their newer versions of DSLR.

Rich thanks, I know what you mean, I was trying hard to bring out everything I could bu only the two subs I pushed it a bit... I'm hoping to get a chance tonight for a few more exposures and hopefully will get better results without having to process so much.

cheers
and thanks all for the feedback
It's good to be back

Hi Frank,
That is a very good picture of Cent. A, great colour sharp focus, about as good as they come, looks like a good combination the 20DA + C 9, and an expert photographer, keep em coming.

cheers....Jim
