Last night - taking solace from the heat in a friends pool, at appx 10:30pm I saw something I haven’t seen before while looking straight up.
Not far from Sirius which was high I saw a sudden bright light that got brighter in maybe half a second to rival even Sirius itself and then disappeared.
While pondering this I then saw - now that far from there another bright light that then moved off to my left - but only a few degrees, before disappearing.
I’m guessing these were meteors heading (esp the first one) more or less towards me. When I saw the one that didn’t move my immediate thought was perhaps a supernova but on balance - prob unlikely if it was so bright for only a fraction of a second ?
Thoughts ?
Have you ever seen something similar ? I’ve seen lots of shooting stars before but these (esp the first) seemed a bit different.
