After many years of great service my Eveready "Sport Gear" hand held Fluoro lamp has died......
I used this regularly as a portable reference lamp for the spectrograph.

Looking around all the "hand inspection lamps" are now LED - no use to me for spectroscopy.....
Has anyone seen a low voltage Fluoro lamp - the best I can find is a 12V 5W unit in a camping website for around $30.
EDIT: Checking the tube - Dr Google test....it appears the tube has gone!
Found one ( F4T5/D ) in the US - $1.....plus $42 delivery!! - still looking

Try Koala Wholesalers in Sydney 02 9552 1212
My company use to buy specialised tubes and lamps from them for various commercial and retail applications
Worth a try
Linear and compact fluorescents are slowly being phased out in Australia since 2011 and are becoming harder to source replacements

Try the lamp from EEPROM eraser (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/UV-EPROM-EEPROM-Eraser-Ultraviolet-Light-6-Chips-High-Speed-Erasable-With-Timer/283173743910?hash=item41ee786d26:g: NOUAAOSw1NRbpaCl).. they contain mercury.
Or, the inner part of mercury lamp (small tube) could be useful.
Or, neon glow lamp (https://au.rs-online.com/web/c/lighting/neon-lamps/neon-indicator-lamps/?searchTerm=neon%20lamp) (from illuminated pushbuttons)
RS-Components have lots of them:

Phil,
The original lasted for over ten years.....
I'm not sure I'll need a replacement in ten years time......

Ken, it's worth it to plan ahead.
Age replacement mightn't be a major concern, but what about accidental breakage?
