Hi IIS folks,
I emailed support@iceinspace.com.au two days ago about this. I don't know how long it usually takes to respond, but thought this approach might be quicker.
After some years of membership I finally started to contribute some posts. However the image I attached was rotated 90 degrees anticlockwise as shown. I haven't been able to find any way to change this within IIS, so I tried saving the picture in every different orientation before attaching, but it always has the same incorrect orientation when attached.

What's going on, and what should I do differently? I've often noticed other peoples attachments are rotated too, so it would be good to publicise the correct way to do it.

Thanks,
Andrew

See the explanation at http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?p=1457772#post145777 2

Use a different image editor - the one you’re using doesn’t respect the orientation metatdata from the camera, or loses it when making a cropped/compressed copy.

Common problem with freeware image editors and those from Microsoft which assume they’re just editing a dumb bitmap without any metadata.
