Well...

I am very happy.

My DMK 21AF04.AS arrived this morning before I headed off to work.

Gonna be hard to concentrate today knowing it's at home waiting to be used with the 9.25 tonight:D

Will have to zip off and buy a Belkin hub and 6-6 pin firewire cable this arvo.

Here I go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D:D

The Work place agreement allows staff to take 3 days off a year for new camera arrivals.

Its called "preperations days"

Good stuff Matt, you could have claimed paternity leave for your new arrival. I had two days off when the 12" arrived
I'll be looking forward to seeing the images it produces.

Cheers

That's great news Matt. FWIW, I use a 4.5m long 6 pin to 6 pin cable from my PCMCIA card (powered by a 12VDC 1.0A mains adapter) and on the 3 occasions I have used it (thanks to the Qld weather) it has worked flawlessly.

Cheers

Cheers guys.

Got the hub and cables sorted.

Have installed drivers and capture software.

Have fired the camera up and the good news is everything appears to work well:)

But I'm super cheesed off. There's dust and crap all over the chip:mad2::mad2:

Not what I expected from a brand new camera, Telescopes-Astronomy!!!

So guys. Any advice on how to clean a CCD chip would be very much appreciated.

Apart from using a bulb blower, I've never actually cleaned a CCD chip before:(

i would send it back instead of cleaning the chip.
