I have just powered up my NEQ6 mount to give it a run and while it initially connected it refused to move in either axis. Thinking it might have been a fault with the wifi I swapped it out for the hand set. It initialises as expected but then indicates no connection to mount. Stand alone mode.

Am I right in suspecting it has cooked the board? It’s close to 4 years old so likely due to go.

Its not uncommon. You could pull the board and check to see if any of the caps have popped. Use your google-fu and see if you can find any results, I thought there was a few common issues with them. Try cloudy nights or stargazers lounge.

Thanks Bart. I will have a hunt around and see what I can find.

Isn’t there a 5 year warranty on that model mount?

Michael.

Mine suffered a dead board, I found it is a resistor/filter that was a little fried I resoldered it and it's been good ever since I also bought a backup from Sidereal trading just in case
