Mount Warning NE NSW is the central volcanic remnant of an ancient shield volcano, the Tweed Volcano.

Spending weeks planning a night with suitable skies and voided from fire smoke, one recent fire in particular south of Tenterfield, fortunately Nth winds have kept it away from the Tweed area last few nights.
This is a single image, taken during the half-moon, Jan 3rd, 10:34pm. I have yet to stack the 20 odd along with a few other compositions from the near all-night session.
Techs: Canon 6D Mk II; ISO-2000; 10 Sec; Sigma 20mm Art F/1.4 @ F/1.6

Very nice.
Greg.
Nice work alright Bob. The partial moon lighting has nicely brought out the greens and lighted Mt Warning in a way you no doubt wouldn't get at new Moon. Love the 2 Magellenic clouds hanging in there too :)

Thnx Rob, I noticed the color diminished to non-existent when the half-moon eventually set - a half moon produces massive amounts of light for the super fast lenses, I must go again next month whilst moon is only a 1/4 illuminated, hopefully do 20-30 secs still catching some foreground color & detail whilst gaining more contrast in the sky, weather permitting ,,,, !

Nice shot Bob I particularly like the way all the elements, foreground and glow in the horizon come into play.

Cheers Derek, yes, nice wide lenses give them vast views & I was concerned about the lights from Tyalgum 'right foreground' but in essence gave an added perspective and depth. The glow on horizon id be confident in saying that would be LP from Lismore
Thanx and best Rgrds

Really nice Bob,
Yet again the reason I like Nightscapes over all other Astro photography.
Almost painting like, I could easily see that hanging on a wall!
Cheers

Beautiful image Bob - I'm guessing from Boxsell Rd ? I've spent a lot of time there doing imaging - elevated and a nice seat supplied thanks to the council.
