Its been a while since I've been on these forums and the last IISAC camp I was at was in 2009. I noticed that the advertisement for the last IISAC is for 2015!

Has this Astrocamp being merged with another one or has it been cancelled outright?

Apologies if this subject been done to death. I did try a search before but could not find anything.

The Ice In Space Astro Camp was organized by just one person, using their own money. The whole exercise was just too big, too expensive and under supported for it to continue as a viable exercise.

Ok thanks. I new Mike was the chief organiser but I always assumed others were involved.

From what I see,Mikes interests went in another direction.
As others have said it takes a lot of effort to organize a "star Party so he probably decided to put that effort into his new interests.
It was a good astro camp while it lasted.
Cheers:thumbsup:

Absolutely Ron!
Thanks to Mike (and all his helpers) for IISAC.
I am so glad and feel privileged to have experienced a few of these.
Disappointed it has declined due to declining patronage (and Mike's need to focus on other matters).
We miss you Mike. (ex-sir post a lot ;))

Those camps were very enjoyable. Whilst where on the subject of the past, I couldn't help notice that the main landing page of this website hasn't been updated for some time, yet the forum itself is still very active. Is there a reason for that?
