When people say "go mono, it's such a better way to image" it's best to do your research first
I was happily imaging with an asi1600 OSC and thought my pictures were of an OK standard...….then I took the step to mono with an asi1600 Pro. :screwy:
How can things get sooooooo much harder by just removing that thin bayer matrix from the front of the sensor!
It has been one hell of a learning curve from the actual imaging through to processing. Here we have my first real attempt.
Yep...some of those stars are FUNKY!
That's white boy funk I'm talkin' about....not the cool kinda funk!
Oh well, is what it is and I'm putting it out there for all to see as my step one into mono.
I think I've got some good detail.
I over exposed big time on this (failure to calculate exposure time/gain correctly) which caused the star issues.
The central mask in of shorter exposures to try and fix the blown out core didn't quite work out colour/brightness wise.
Overall though I'm happy to have taken the step to mono...…...I think...….
