The LMC contains a plethora of star clusters and star forming nebulae easily seen in quality binoculars. More than 100 full moons would easily fit into this image.

The most challenging aspect of producing these two part mosaics was correcting for the strong light pollution gradients. Damn cities and LED lights.

Technical Details:

Borg 55 mm f/3.6 astrograph, Astrodon 3-nm Sulphur II, Hydrogen alpha, and Oxygen III filters, QSI 683wsg camera. Mount: EQ8. Imaged from suburban Sydney.

Sulphur II: 88 x 11 minutes = 16 hours, Hydrogen alpha: 165 x 11 minutes = 30 hours, Oxygen III: 88 x 11 minutes = 16 hours.

Software: Nebulosity 4, PHD 2, PixInsight, Lightroom and Photoshop.

That's a colossal effort, Murray! Lovely field... kinda looks like a big fish. I personally prefer the colour of the second one, but I can make out more nebulosity in the first one.

Not many images of this region grab my attention but your widefield is fantastic.
Amazing detail.
Beautiful composition.
