I'm in the market for an equitorial wedge for my 8 inch LX-90 and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations?

I'm looking to buy not build.

Cheers.

I reckon you'd need at least a HEQ5 for the LX90. Are you looking to do photography as well?

I use the Meade super wedge with my LX200. I don't know if a comparable thing is available for your lx90? Other options at the time for me were the Milburn, but I don't believe it was worth the extra cost. MAPUG archives used to have many suggestions on wedges.

If I were to upgrade I'd have one custom made for my latitude so it's rock solid (welded in position).

Hi Lineout,
The easy way, you have 2 choices. First is the Meade standard wedge, with LX90 adaptor plate. These run at around $250ish, and are ok, but fairly wobbly in a breeze.
Then there is the Meade Ultrawedge, which runs around $950ish, and you will need the adaptor plate still. This will be MASSIVE overkill though lol. It's designed to take up to the 14" LX200R, so your LX90 won't even register on it.
I have used both, standard on my last scope (8" LX90) and Ultrawedge on my current 10" LX200R. The Ultrawedge is of course far superior, but also a lot more expensive.

Clear skies,
Shane
