Hi All.

Well I managed to pick up a Canon 300mm F2.8L Lens from a fellow in Melbourne which is in mint condition, so I'm putting my Canon 300mm F4.0L on the market.

The Lens has been used lightly, and is also in mint condition, and comes in its original packaging.

If people are interested I will also include the Hutech 77mm LPR Filter that I bought from the States at $308.00 USD, thats nearly $400.00 Australian.

The Lens and filter combination works fantastically for long, wide field imaging.

I paid just over $1900.00 for the lens, but will let it go for $1650.00, including the filter and postage to your door.

Please PM me if you are interested, sorry i don't have a photo of the filter, but that can be arranged.

Cheers Leon

PS This will go on E-Bay if no interest is shown after the weekend.

This Lens Has Now Been Sold, thanks to all who inquired. Leon

Leon,

Could you please post a shot of the entire lens. My wife is into DSLR and Canon gear. I presume this would work on a 400D?

I point it out to here when she comes home tonight.

There you go,

Ask as many questions as you like, yes it would fit the Canon 400D very nicely, I'm only selling because i picked up a 300 F2.8L, otherwise I would keep it.

Cheers Leon

Leon,

Nice lens, have you got any astrophoto's you can post made with the lens?

This is a quote from Pertti on the Digital Astro group who recently purchased and tested the 300 f4 IS:

"For the aligned and averaged image, 300mm at f4, I had a hard time
finding any other issues. In fact, the stars looked so beautifully
round and white blobs, that I begun suspecting an unknown issue in
the test arrangement itself! If this level of image quality holds,
this is definitely one of my best lenses for astrophotography, even
wide open. The stars look much better than those from the 200f2.8L
II and that says a lot."

Hi terry I can only give you two images, but you must understand that I am still learning this caper, they will be nothing like Berts.

Its is a great lens, and is very sharp, and I.m sure I haven't got the best out of it yet.

Cheers Leon
