My wife would like to fit a dashcam in her car - too many near misses, cyclists seem the worse offenders....
Any recommendations?
How difficult to fit? I see most need a 12v power connection (hanging from the rear view mirror???)

We just got a $49 one from JayCar last year for the wife's car.
Seems to be pretty good.
Notably mine was $300. That was 10 years ago. Blackvue. It has GPS stamping of the video with recorded time location and speed.
Note also that you will probably need to buy an SD card of reasonable size.

Installation of the camera was straight forward, but tracking the cord to the cigarette plug power was a little more difficult. Not because the cord was too short, but because we wanted to "tuck it in" to keep it out of sight and tidy.

Hi Ken, I'm very happy with the ones I got. Four of them. Thread here (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=160425&highlight=dashcam).

The socket fits on the windscreen under your rear view mirror with an adhesive like an eTag. The power is via miniUSB. Run it under your window trims to the ciggie 12V plug. Too easy. Had mine running for 3+ years. No issues whatsoever.

should be easy to tuck in under roof liner.
side pillar comes off with a good tug normally, just watch routing around airbag.
