Purchased new at the end of June 2019 this has been my main work horse for the past 5 months. For a battery operated chainsaw it certainly has a lot of grunt. For most of the time it’s been used for tree pruning but lately most of my work has been around removing dead trees and storm damage. So far it’s been able to handle everything I’ve thrown at it but it doesn’t quite have the grunt I need for the jobs I’m getting now so I’m investing in a MS-261.
The associated images are two of the storm damage trees it’s dealt with in the past week. The first was a 40 foot pine, needed four AP300S batteries to cut everything up into manageable bits, 3 of those was the last 10 feet.
It’s a fantastic chainsaw for suburbia, sounds like a drill and would work very well for maintenance around a rural property.
Looking for $400 for the chainsaw with 14” bar and the battery charger for the Stihl 36V Lithium Ion batteries they have.
