Sunday morning I got up for Jupiter, and the view looked ok through the eyepiece - thought I was in for a good morning, hoping to make a nice GRS transit animation.

Unfortunately as it turned out, the seeing was less than average (4/10) and it was difficult to extract any detail from the avi's.

Here's 3 of the better ones (from 17 avi's captured).

(L)RGB processing in Photoshop. Approx 300 frames stacked in each channel.

Thanks

Not too bad Mike, but as we all know, seeing is king. At least you are getting up and trying. I used to find an 8mm eyepiece gave me a good indicator, and if that was OK, I imaged, if not I did something else. You?

Thanks for posting these Mike - it is a good illustration of the effects of seeing on hi-res imaging, because we have seen some stunners from you and your set up. It really is good to see the full spectrum of results - makes you human and gives the rest of us hope!

Cheers

Dennis

Yep nice to see a comparison of how seeing can affect the final image.

Great work though as usual, this would be far better than my best attempt, for sure.

A good job Mike, considering the conditions I think it's the best.
