The International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR) was
founded in September 2009 with the specific purpose of supporting
Australia’s bid to host the SKA.
It is a joint venture between Curtin University and The University of
Western Australia and now plays a role in the SKA's development.
In a press release today (https://www.icrar.org/gleam2019/), ICAR report how using data from the
Murchison Widefield Array (MWA) telescope that was processed by
Pawsey Supercomputing Centre in Perth has resulted in a new view
of the galactic centre of the Milky Way.
