Yes, I'm selling my Celestron 4SE
Sorry I don't have the original 25mm eyepiece, given that to a newbie a while back, but I will include a Bintel 12mm Plossl in excellent condition.
Also will include a Focus Mask
And the 12volt cigarette lighter cord and plug.
Cost $899 from Andrews on 20/2/2010. (not including the mask, cord, and eyepiece) - receipt available if required.
Look, its had very little use, but its 9 years old.
I planned to use this for astrophotography in the future.
Never got around to it. Been exclusively visual with my Dobs since then.
I will sell for $400 PICK UP (NSW Central Coast) or PLUS Postage
or offer more if you like.

Hi Allan
Just querying your advertised 4SE. Firstly, I have never owned a telescope but I desperately wish to start Astro-photography.
As I care for my Dad full-time money really is an issue for me so your 4SE is in my money bracket. Can you tell me if the 4SE is ok for DSO Imaging?. You mention in advert that you are missing original eyepiece. Is this something that would make for better DSO imaging?. If so, I am guessing that I will be able to purchase.
I will bore you no longer. I live in Hobart so I hope it would be not too much trouble to pack up and ship. Off course, that cost would be mine. Hopefully, shipping cost would noy be so high that it would put purchasing out of my price bracket.
Anyway, if you could reply and let me know what you think regarding purchase and shipping cost.
Thanks
Mick

Re: Astrophotography:
Sorry, I have never used this scope (or any for that matter) for Astrophotography.
You should Google 4SE for astrophotography or similar.
There is info out there.
Trying to help, I had a look. This is some of what I saw.
http://www.astronomyforum.net/celestron-nexstar-telescope-forum/155905-using-celestron-nexstar-4se-astrophotography-print.html
The scope is designed to allow astrophotography,
It has an inbuilt wedge and internal flip mirror.
It can be polar aligned.
You would still need to buy attachments.
like a T adaptor
a T ring for your particular DSLR.
possibly a 0.63 focal reducer.
or different things for different methods.
Web camera photography
PiggyBack Photography
Prime Focus Photography
eyepiece Projection
Generally
Planetary and moon. OK.
DSO's. Not so much. It can be done, apparently, but due to long focal length will require long exposure times, and this may not be practical with the scope by itself. (ie may need external guidance scope etc.)
Try posting the Question in one of the General sections of IceInSpace.
I'm sure you will get a lot of good advice.
Hope this helps
cheers

The attached photo 1 shows the 4SE with a DSLR attached to the scope.
Using a Celestron 93635-A to T-Adapter. [photo 2]
This allows either a direct connection to the T-Ring for the DSLR (pentax in this case) for prime photography
OR
It can also be teamed with the Optex Eyepiece Projection Camera Adapter [photos 3, 4]
for eyepiece projection photography. (takes a standard 1.25" barrell eyepiece with flexible positioning thumbscrew.
Both adapters are available if required at no extra cost.
Both these connections allow you to keep an eyepiece in the standard (top) eyepiece barrel (for visual confirmation) and to flip between it and the camera with the built in Flip Mirror. Quite clever.

Hi Allan
Firstly, apologies for late reply. New to ICEINSPACE and I missed your reply.
Thank-you for your honesty regarding the 4SE performance as a DSO telescope for astrophotography.
I would love to have purchased as I think the price is fantastic but I must decline.
All the best
Macca
