My first moon shot taken with CPC C925 and 0.5 reducer (1.25 inch) a few months back.

Camera ZWO178 (small format)

I was able to maximise the distance of the Focal reducer to an effective 0.3 and later to 0.22 before exceeding the limitations of the scope.

Does this mean I was getting 10x the amount of light at 0.3?

A classic place to start your imaging David. I’m still not clear in (times) amount of light and focal ratio’s . But short F ratios seem to reduce exposure times. There must be some good physics behind it ! I’m probably a little lazy in the research side of this topic .

Welcome Dave
Nice work.
Great way to start. Processing can be fun..go negative with various colours is fun.
Keep them coming we all like seeing this stuff.

Very nice lunar pic. I can't help with your extra light query but your reducer and scope are working great!
