Nicely done Mirko, the seeing wasn't too bad considering the low altitude during the event.

Excellent Mirko. Cloudy as here, but I managed to see it through and between the clouds. Tried a shot, but nothing, it really was hit and miss.

Nothing here in W Europe because of rain, which should actually fall in NSW (New Scorching Wales).
I saw the last one in 2016 and 2003.

Have added a full disk view, obtained with the QHY183 through the Baader-filmed RC6. The close-up was a phone shot through the Lunt wedge on the FC76, reversed to approximate actual angle. Disk distortion is evident. It was very slow-moving. Also added the view right after sunrise. Heavy dispersion and a pronounced green fringe at the top on sunrise. The sharp spots are EP crud.

Thanks for posting the images, glad to hear that some in NZ got to see the transit. Did see the 2003 event in the late arvo, got home from work just in time and would like to still be around for the next one in 2032.

Considering Mercury is slightly more than 1/3 the size of earth, it shows the sheer enormity of the sun..... and our star isn’t even one of the big ones. It’s just mind boggling.:eyepop:

Great image. The true scale of this tiny planet is well defined crossing our all powerful Sun. Well done on capturing this transit. I’m In awe.
