Thanks for the images David.

This all on the back of the smoke from all the bush fires last week.

Additional satellite animation here and story this morning in
the Sydney Morning Herald :-

https://www.smh.com.au/national/nsw/sydney-enveloped-by-dust-haze-moving-east-across-nsw-20191107-p5385h.html

31C and high winds forecast for Sydney today.

Total fire ban in Sydney and some other areas.

Sydney water catchment now down to 47.2% and dropping about 0.4% to
0.5% per week.

Thankfully wiser heads prevailed over the critics of the forecast and the
decision to build the Sydney desalination plant which has been online
since January and was at full production in August. It's supplying 15%
of Sydney's water at the moment.

Part of the cost of the desalination was the construction of the
67–turbine 140MW Capital Wind Farm at Bungendore to power it
with 100% renewable energy. Excess energy goes into the grid.

well i went to image last night at 11 to get orion and i noticed the skyglow was extreme, then i saw what blew up from broken hill to the murray last evening and we got it then. i didnt image at all as the setting moon was filtered ;). in the hunter we have about 60% roughly and no desalination plant. but just the tonnage of topsoil lost to new zealand again...

I went out this morning and could not even see the Watagan Mountains to the west of Morisset, nor the Erarang power plant stack. The combination of the western NSW dust storm, the Hunter Valley Coal Mines dust and the westerly wind was sending brown fingers through the sky heading out to sea.
So yeah, I think anything Astro is out of the question.

Clear blue skies here in Sydney south , no haze or smoke at all
Wind is suppose to drop off to 6 knots around 7pm
Might do some one more Lunar terrain imaging tonight and then covers on until the dark again on the 21st

We have been cursed here with dust and when it’s not dusty, smoke.
Visibility from the smoke has been down to less than a km some days.
Tonight is the first clear night I’m gonna have in a couple of weeks.
