I'm a bit skeptical... I hear about different breakthroughs for rechargeable batteries almost every year in the last 10 years, but we are still here with using Li-ion and Li-Pol which are on the market for more than 10 years. Not even close to have something new in production.

You are not alone just have a look at the comments on the video.
However I blame the journalists and their bosses...and we can perhaps say that sensationalism creates false expectations.
However progress continues.

YouTube isn’t a credible source of anything except advertising, fake news and junk science.
It’s become so determined to serve junk even my son has given up trying to use it to watch kids videos.

Here is another source ...next I will check at the University because Nick is correct in so far as there is just so much BS out there it's not limited to you tube.

For a critical assessment I went to the Uni web site...seems legit...but if someone can run some background checks that would help.

You'll see many attempts at new storage technology before one really takes off. It's a good sign though. There are huge amounts of money being poured into battery R&D and it is driving prices down. 10-20% per year recently. It wasn't that long ago that electric cars and home batteries were prototypes or unrealistically expensive at best. But both are gradually gaining ground.
Wavytone.
I totally disagree. U tube is great - for so many "things". I constantly go there, for advice and help on how to change - fix - repair my cars alternator. or whatever How to unlock a Padlock. etc. etc. Five Stars - to U tube.
