I vote Ving for #1 as my entry was one of the alternatives from a previous challenge, last year, whereas Ving’s entry was fresh for this challenge. So in the spirit of the challenge, Ving holds the moral high ground.

So Ving, in my unofficial opinion, you should be the one to choose.

my second thought for topic was "rubbish" but I thought self portrait should be more fun. should we make it hand held self portrait? ;)
