At my workplace last night..one of our patrons had a few items of interest for me to use...:D ...amongst them was a a copy of the Norton's Star atlas circa 1937 which is filled with information the planets and boasts 8000 objects suitable for small telescopes!...fascinating!
Another item is a Phillips Planesphere for Latitudes 35 degres South, Made by George Phillip & Son at The London Geographic Institute. No year of manufacture but it is made from embossed black cardboard?...with gold lettering. Beautifully inscribed!!
It's a bit tattered but still usable!..the craftmanship involved is brilliant!..and to think that they were both destined for the bin!!...:eyepop:..
I was very grateful to have them and will provide some interesting reading!!
