This is NGC 1291, an unusual barred ring galaxy in Eridanus, unusual because it has a barred ring structure, and unusual because it has two NGC catalogue numbers (1291 and 1269).

This was approximately 8.3 hours of LRGB over three nights, one night with excellent seeing and two with very poor seeing. It's still east enough that I hope to re-image it during the next new moon to substitute the poor data for better.

A really nice shot of this cool and surprisingly overlooked and pretty large galaxy Kevin. It's nice and subtle, with that cool ring, something different to the usual more striking galaxies that attract our attention this time of year  I actually started on this a year ago myself, only grabbed 70min of Lum and under a nearly 3/4 Moon  so must complete that sometime

Thanks Mike. I processed it with bright sunlight in the room and thought it was OK but can now see nasty blue fringes everywhere. FWHM on the luminance subs was well over 5 at times. I need better data!

That's and interesting looking galaxy image Kevin, there is two distinct rings surrounding this galaxy. More data should provide more detail. Well done.
