Last Monday I returned from a great fun long-weekend astro camp in the Bendleby Ranges of SA, organised for members of the Astronomical Society of SA. I am particularly happy that good seeing coincided with good collimation and gave me some of my sharpest Jupiter images. I attach a couple of them.
The images are from early evening, about 1/2 hour apart, featuring the transit of Ganymende. It is the first time I have captured a hint of surface detail on any of Jupiter's moons.
Captured via C11 & 2x barlow, ZWO ASI120C and ADC, and the usual software : FireCap-AutoStakkert-RegiStax-Photoshop tweaks.
I have been continually impressed by the quality of images from John, Andy, Paul and others using their 14" scopes, and am happy that I am getting some images of appropriate quality from my more humble C11. I guess I am now much closer to bumping into its limitations but there is always room for improvement.

Luck does play a big part when imaging the planets.
I knew luck was on my side when I did a star align on nearby Antares and I immediately saw the faint companion star. Without even trying ! Hence seeing was good (for a short while ) and I was in the right place with everything ready to make the most of it.
