Hi,

I need to get some parts to allow me to mount my Baader T2 diagonal to my SCT.

Looking through their website I see two possible routes I could go:

Option 1.
Baader T Adapter (BTA) for SC and MAK Telescopes (T-2 part #21)
^Allows me to connect my diagonal to the sct thread and provides rotation

Option 2.
Baader SC / HD Ultra Short T-Adaptor, 7mm optical length
Baader TQC/TCR Heavy duty T-2 Quick Changing System (T-2 part #06A & #07)
^The benefit to this is I can quickly swap between my diagonal and something else like a camera.

The most important thing for me is that everything is connected securely and I can easily rotate my diagonal.

The concern I have with using the Quick Change system is that it won't have enough holding strength when I have a heavy eyepiece in my diagonal at a 90° angle.

Has anyone used the Quick Change system? Is it any good? Which option would be better for rotating?

The other thing I just noticed is it looks like you can't get a dust cap for both sides of the Quick Change system Hmm...

I used the Baader Quick Change unit on the prototype Spectra-L200 spectrograph.
The idea was to allow any camera to be quickly mounted.....
To answer your question, I found it very rigid and secure, no concerns, no issues, no drama.

In production I found I needed to add a focuser, so went for the Borg Helical focuser and special T thread variable adaptor.

I have the heavy duty changer too and find it very secure and it seems not to introduce any tilt issues.

Here’s a pic of the big load my one holds - binoviewer + eps. No problems holding it and I can rotate it as needed easily. It has a locking lip to save accidental falls when clamp is disengaged for rotating, but I still take care when rotating an expensive load.
