Inspired by strongmanmike's image I thought I would see how a 6 panel mosaic of the area around the SMC would go with the little ED72. This is a crop out of 6 panels of 5 subs each, I was seeing some LP gradients form Melbourne in the subs so I think I will leave it for now and hope to hit it in earnest at the upcoming Snake Valley camp where there is nothing of note to the south of us throwing up LP. I may have to add panels though, the cropping was a bit of a task, one thing that SGP's mosaic wizard does not account for well is the spreading of the panels when you are working so near the pole.

H-alpha regions should be red, not blue.

Apart from that, very tidy indeed.

Well, interestingly that is how they are showing up with the OSC camera. Though it is on relatively little data. Perhaps just not strong enough to be really visible in the 5 minute exposures?

I just went back to the basic integration and pushed the saturation right up and can perhaps see some hint of them, but the rest looks a bit like it is in clowns makeup. If the clouds stay away tonight I might send it back over that way and try some ten minute subs on it.

I use Astro Pixel Processor for stacking and mosaic stitching.
