Hi all,
I thought of doing a HaRGB experiment on Gum 85. Clearly narrowband and RGB star sizes don't quite match, but I did not feel like doing a decon to surgically match star sizes.
Perhaps an LRGB with some Ha would be a more appropriate approach for this target.
Total acquisition is just over 50 hours, with a ratio of 4:1 (Ha:RGB).

That's a great image Suavi. Very moody. I like the glowing edge of some of those ridges and that bright area is very interesting.

Both good Suavi. My first impression was to regard version 2 as the one I liked most, but version 1 has something about it that just draws you in the more you look at it. On balance I think I prefer version 1

Lovely detail for what is quite a faint target - well done Suavi. :)

A superb image. Very deep Ha.
We much prefer the second image, which gives more weight to the hard-won Ha.
At first glance, it's easy to focus on the super-bright Groot-Ewok fragment, but it is the general field that wins the day.
Best,

Thank you Geoff, Andy, Paul and Mike & Trish.
It appears that seamlessly combining narrowband and RGB data is not as straightforward as I thought. May stick to pure narrowband for a while.
But overall I'm quite pleased with the result, particularly with the Version 2.
Good news - the computer is back from a repair and I have not lost Helix data. Just need two more clear nights and will start putting the image together.
Very pleasing image. I keep coming back to number 1 for the colours too. :)
