Questar refurbishment

Hi

I've recently taken possession of a Questar at an absolutely bargain price but the mirror isn't in great shape and should be re-coated. I know that you can send Questars back to the factory for refurbishment but I was wondering if there is anyone in Australia that could do this work?

No there isn’t. I’ve tried before. Saintech might - and only maybe - redo the coatings but it’s up to you to disassemble, send the glass to them and then reassemble.

Alternatively personal delivery to questar on a “while you wait” basis could be an excuse for a short holiday in the USA.

Thanks for the info. Haven't decided what to do yet but I'm not keen on paying Questar's US$900 price for a general service and recoating the mirror.
